Top Things to do in Humacao, Puerto Rico

Visit the Humacao Nature Preserve

There were a couple days that I had to work during the day but had the morning free and wanted to do something fun. I stumbled upon this instagram page and after chatting with Christina from Water Sports and Decotours decided to check it out. I highly recommend visiting the kayak rental right at the Humacao Nature Preserve. You can’t miss it. We had the entire lagoon to ourselves. You can’t ask for a better experience. It is very affordable and their team was extremely helpful! The entire process was very easy and they took COVID very seriously which I appreciated. I rented a SUP board and it was very fun and safe.

Stay at the Wyndham Candelero Beach Resort

Knowing that we were staying outside of San Juan for the first half of our Puerto Rico trip. We decided to start the trip in Humacao – I decided to work with Wyndham Candelero Beach Resort. This resort was perfect for a place to unwind and regroup from the hustle and bustle of a big city like San Juan. It was in a gated community, surrounded by a golf course (talk about quiet and tranquil) There is a very clean and centrally located pool with a bar within the resort. We didn’t eat at the on-site restaurant but, I can attest that the cafe area has the best cappuccinos. I loved that there are walking trails all over the resort. They have a path that lead straight to the beach which I find so tranquil. The beach waves seemed way too strong to actually chill in the water but, a nice walk on the beach will do! It may have been due to the timing of the season. We staying here in the beginning of November.

Next stop! San Juan, Puerto Rico

It was a perfect start to the Puerto Rico trip but, now we head to Old San Juan and sight seeing. Follow along on Instagram at
